UNINSURED drivers are ten times more likely to have a driving conviction than insured drivers, the Association of British Insurers claimed this week; little wonder then that they add an extra GBP 6.3 billion to UK motorists' insurance premiums.
Worryingly, this finding is in stark contrast to how those driving with out insurance actually view themselves. Nearly three- quarters of uninsured drivers believe they drive carefully and within the law, according to separate research for insurer Direct Line.
