LIVES will be at risk if the Scottish Ambulance Service chooses an option to close its base on Royal Deeside, warn critics of the proposals.

The service is studying proposals to close its depot at Braemar, which is closest to the Glenshee ski centre and the peaks of the eastern Cairngorms, and move the base to Ballater, 16 miles away. It is one of three options for the future of ambulance provision in the popular tourist village, close to the Queen's estate at Balmoral.
