THE Scottish Socialist MSP Carolyn Leckie provoked outrage after it was revealed that she will be released from prison this morning - less than 24 hours after being jailed for seven days for refusing to pay a fine imposed for taking part in an illegal anti-nuclear protest.
Ms Leckie, 39, was yesterday sentenced by East Kilbride District Court to spend seven days behind bars, but because she is entitled to 50 per cent remission and prisoners are not released at the weekend, she will be out at 9:30am today.See the full content of this document
