Army Headquarters has Given 70 Years of Service

Summary


CRAIGIEHALL, near Cramond, in north-west Edinburgh, has been the home of the 2nd Division of the British Army since April 2000, although the estate has been occupied by the army since September 1939.

It became the divisional HQ for Scotland and the north of England as a result of the 1998 Strategic Defence Review (SDR), initiated by former defence secretary Lord George Robertson.
