THE Bank of Scotland's historic headquarters in Edinburgh will be closed for 18 months from today to allow a multi-million-pound refurbishment to go ahead.

The company plans to restore the building on The Mound to its former glory, with a false ceiling being removed to recreate the original Great Hall.
