JACK WHITE IS A TRUE SCOTSMAN. Possibly. I didn't check for myself, you understand, but his friend - and now bandmate in The Raconteurs - Brendan Benson sneaked a peek under White's newly purchased kilt and confirmed his national credentials.

"I am Scottish," White affirms in that way that a lot of Americans have of not admitting that they are actually American. "A lot of my Scottish family went to live in Nova Scotia for a couple of generations - McPherson clan." He has ordered a McPherson kilt but seems pretty chuffed with his interim purchase of what he claims is "Raconteurs tartan".
