A TROUBLESOME beaver has been on the loose in a Scottish forest for at least ten months, outwitting the efforts of trappers, The Scotsman has learned.

Experts became aware the animal was at large after spotting gnawed trees last April. Attempts to entice it into traps using carrots as bait have failed.
