WELFARE benefit officers in the Borders, who secured a record GBP 4.3 million in additional payments for hundreds of clients last year, have warned that revised claim processes are threatening to hamper the region's anti-poverty strategy.
It has been estimated that at least GBP 15 million a year in benefits is not reaching those Borders households entitled to income support, tax credit and other payments, and almost 2,000 workers may not be claiming family tax credits worth more than GBP 8 million a year.See the full content of this document
