BUSINESS in Scotland is often portrayed as anti-devolution or hostile to the Holyrood parliament. But could the business constituency prove to be the saviour of devolution and its best hope for the future?

Business concerns - and ones shared by others - centre on the parliament's domination by party machines and ex-public sector, local government and quango employees to give us government of the government, by the government, for the government. More than two thirds of MSPs are drawn from the public sector or "political life" (see chart).
