SCOTLAND'S crackdown on knives might be adopted south of the Border, with mandatory prison sentences for anyone carrying a blade in public, Tony Blair said yesterday as a UK-wide knife amnesty began.

Tough new rules on knife crime were unveiled in Scotland this week by Colin Boyd, the Lord Advocate. Yesterday in the Commons, Tom Harris, Labour MP for Glasgow South, asked the Prime Minister if he would consider similar laws for England.
