THE Scottish Executive's bid to attract immigrants to the country suffered a fresh blow yesterday as official figures showed the number of Eastern Europeans registering to work in Scotland is falling.

Scotland's share of the 176,000 new European Union citizens who have come to Britain since May 2004 has also remained well below the country's share of the total UK population, the Home Office figures showed.
