Summary
A BREACH of anti-BSE rules in a Wick slaughterhouse six months ago resurfaced yesterday to embarrass the Food Standards Agency.
Stringent rules stipulate the removal of "specified risk materials" linked most closely with BSE infection. These include the thymus gland, traces of which the Wick slaughterhouse failed to remove from several carcases.
