POLICE officers and ambulance staff had to be decontaminated after a 24-year-old man died in a suspected poisoning incident close to the main road between east Scotland and England.

Emergency service workers sped to a lay-by near the A1 where they discovered the seriously ill man. It is understood he had been exposed to a noxious substance from a metal container in his car, which has been described by police as a "vermin control" substance.
