COMPLAINTS to the public services ombudsman rose 22 per cent last year, and the body made more than 300 recommendations, official figures reveal.
Ombudsman staff dealt with 1,165 inquiries and 2,953 complaints, with 2,875 of those determined - six fewer than in 2007-8. In all, 189 complaints were taken forward, with 73 investigations launched as a result. Sixty-six per cent of those were upheld or partially upheld.See the full content of this document
