ACTION in the mid-caps yesterday provided investors with sparkle in an otherwise lacklustre market. The FTSE 100 ended flat up just 0.8 points at 6,073.5 hanging on to gains made at the start of the week.
Carphone Warehouse was the highlight of the day, shooting up over 8 per cent after announcing its GBP 370 million deal to buy the UK arm of internet provider AOL. Shares closed up 26.75p to 360.25p.See the full content of this document
