Executive Project Funding Is Well Targeted but Spending Must Be Better Monitored

SCOTLAND'S spending watchdog, Audit Scotland, has called for better monitoring of the GBP 1.4 billion of special projects that the Executive launched last year.

It found the funding for 74 projects announced in 2004 - including initiatives to support community regeneration, develop sport facilities, prevent youth crime and develop new businesses - was generally well managed.
