A LACK of blockbuster game launches and falling consumer confidence has sent first-half profits at Game Group down by two- thirds.

The high street chain, which specialises in computer game products, posted unusually strong profits in the early months of 2008, boosted by a string of popular launches, including the Wii Fit and Grand Theft Auto IV.
