THE man offering to sell the archives of his family's publishing firm to the National Library of Scotland for GBP 33 million said yesterday that almost the entire sum would be put into a charitable trust.

The John Murray Archive is called a treasure trove of manuscripts, records and above all letters that features the household names of 19th century British literature, science and exploration, many with close Scottish connections.
