A HIGH-fibre diet will not help to reduce the risk of getting bowel cancer, according to a major study published today.

Researchers in the United States studied the records of more than 725,000 men and women over a six- to 20-year period to assess the effect of eating a high-fibre diet on the chance of getting the disease.
