BUSINESSES are drawing up contingency plans to deal with the aftermath of terrorist attacks after police warned that there was a "substantial" threat of a mainland UK bombing campaign by dissident Irish republican groups.

Companies in London were alerted as part of a new system introduced to improve co-operation between business and the Metropolitan Police, but intelligence reports are believed to suggest that the threat level has risen across the country.
