HAVING suffered their heaviest defeat of the season on Sunday, when they went down 4-1 to Rangers, Hibernian could have done with playing another match as quickly as possible. The postponement of tonight's game at St Johnstone means they must now wait until the Edinburgh derby to get back into action - and to start out on what John Hughes hopes is another long unbeaten run.

Hughes's team had strung together a dozen games without defeat before the champions visited Easter Road, and the manager's challenge to his players when they play host to Hearts on Sunday will be to rediscover winning ways immediately. "It's hard to get angry with the boys, because they've been fantastic for me since I came to the club," he said yesterday.
