OIL prices rose above dollars 73 a barrel yesterday after Iran hinted it might cut its crude output if its ongoing nuclear stand- off with the West escalated.

The comments were made by Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who warned that oil exports could be reduced if the US made a "wrong move".
