if you're talking sex appeal, hair is really not an area on which to place any undue import. Sadly, not everyone realises this. Some think the way a man maintains his locks is the all-important factor in the social game. ("Should I date him? Oh, dunno, he's a doctor with a good body but his hair's an inch on the long side, I'd better go with that adulterous heartbreaker with the highlights and perfect fringe.") You think I'm making this up? I've seen the inside of too many George Street bars to deny it really does happen. But in my book, such misguidedly fussy individuals deserve to be left high and very dry on the Saturday night shelf of loneliness.

Right, now we've got that out of the way, this week I'm looking at men's hair gel. Just remember, it's really not that important.
