JAPANESE and British veterans of the Second World War joined together yesterday to remember their fallen comrades 60 years after they faced each other on the battlefield of Burma.

Veterans of the British 14th army, the so-called forgotten army, and their former foes were joined by the Japanese ambassador for a commemoration ceremony remembering two key battles which took place in Burma in 1944.
