JIM Jefferies has emerged from talks with Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov armed with the firm conviction he will be able to reshape his first-team squad effectively for next season.

The rebuilding process formally began yesterday when the Tynecastle club announced that the quartet of Michael Stewart, Laryea Kingston, Christian Nade and Jose Goncalves have all been released.
