JIM Jefferies extended his contract as Kilmarnock manager until 2012 and followed up with confirmation that it would almost certainly be his last in football. Completion of the new agreement will have seen the former Hearts manager serve more than 25 years in a tough profession.

On a day of mixed feelings - the pain of a 3-1 defeat by Celtic at Rugby Park following immediately after the announcement of his and assistant Billy Brown's new deal - Jefferies, 58, was asked if he envisaged retirement when his new contract expires.
