WILLIAM Beggs, the "limbs in the loch" killer, has settled a long- running dispute with the prison authorities over access to computer equipment as he prepares an appeal against his conviction.

Beggs, 40, had taken the Scottish Prison Service to the Court of Session, claiming that conditions imposed on his use of a word processor to communicate with his lawyers did not ensure confidentiality and breached his human rights.
