THE Church of Scotland has abandoned plans to expand its troubled hotel scheme in Israel following an independent report into the business.

Reporting to the General Assembly, the convener of the World Mission Council, Rev Alan Greig, said that plans to increase the number of rooms in the Scots Hotel near Tiberias from 69 to 130 were being shelved.
