LABOUR moved quickly to attack the Conservatives yesterday after it emerged that the Scottish Tories are preparing go into the next election with a pledge to cut income tax by 3p in the pound.

The Scotsman revealed yesterday that senior Scottish Tories have taken the decision in principle to use the Tartan Tax to cut income tax in Scotland, but have not agreed to the policy formally until they have worked out where the money is going to come from.
