EVERY Edinburgh Fringe has its traditional rows over the quality and quantity of the performances. We are always told the Fringe is getting too big. This year it had a record 2,000 shows, leading the
director of Assembly Productions, Bill Burdett-Coutts, to opine there were not enough people to provide audiences for the good shows, never mind the bad ones.
