MANUFACTURING has been in the doldrums for so long that even the smallest good news should be seized on, particularly when it looks as if Scotland is a beneficiary.
Manufacturing output across the UK inched forward by 0.1 per cent in June, though the wider measure of industrial production edged down by the same percentage amount. While the pick-up in manufacturing was weaker than expected (a rise of 0.3 per cent had been looked for) the out-turn took the annual change to 0.9 per cent.See the full content of this document
