Theatre: THE BIGOT *** PAVILION THEATRE, GLASGOW

FRANKLY, I don't know whether to be impressed or terrified. On the one hand, here's a bright, smartly-dressed audience of almost 1,000, piling into a major Glasgow theatre every night of a two- week run to watch a three-hour stage play, without a penny of subsidy in sight. At any time of year, it would be a huge achievement by the standards of most Scottish theatres; during the long bright evenings of May and June, it seems like something of a miracle.
