MERELY MENTION ROSSLYN CHAPEL and, depending on the company, folk will a) levitate along the nearest ley line, b) give you a Masonic handshake, c) start scourging themselves, or d) evaporate in a fit of outraged rationalist pique. Thanks to latter-day Knights Templar, grail-seekers, masons, mystics and, of course, the ubiquitous Dan Brown, the chapel's name rarely elicits a neutral response.

On Tuesday, Richard Holloway presents The Rosslyn Code (Tuesday, Radio Scotland, 11:30am), which he calls "a ruminative two-part programme, not cynical or hostile but fairly factually based" about the marvellously wrought Midlothian Chapel, where visitor numbers will doubtless escalate yet again when Tom Hanks and company take to the screen next month in the movie of The Da Vinci Code.
