Summary
AMONG THE inestimable pleasures of the summer in our quiet little corner of Edinburgh's Old Town, I count three in particular.
One is the delight of being able to sleep with the windows open and the curtains only partly drawn. Another, as the noise of the city subsides, is listening to the sound of birdlife in the darkness. And the third is not having to attend to our Pither solid fuel fire.
