MORE haste, less speed. The cliche has virtually become Lee McConnell's personal motto this year as she has attempted to make the move from 400 metres on the flat - the event at which she has won a Commonwealth silver medal and a European bronze - to the 400m hurdles.
At 26, and with three years until the next Olympic Games, McConnell knows the time is right to make the switch. So far, though, the transition has not been a smooth one.
