MARTIN O'Neill, the Celtic manager, yesterday expressed his belief that failure of the club's board to facilitate a strengthening of his squad during the January transfer window could lead to a concession of the SPL title to Rangers.

As his team seek to put the disappointment of Wednesday's CIS Insurance Cup quarter-final defeat to their Old Firm rivals at Ibrox behind them as they resume their defence of the championship at home to managerless Inverness Caledonian Thistle this afternoon, O'Neill admitted his concerns if Celtic have to complete the rest of the season with the squad currently available to him.
