NOKIA, the world's largest mobile phone maker, wrote down the value of its struggling networks unit yesterday and revealed a fall in "smart phone" sales, sending its shares down 11 per cent.
The company booked a 908 million (GBP 835m) hit from its Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) joint venture, citing challenging market conditions and dragging the group to a loss of 559m for the third quarter.
