JUST over a year after his abrupt departure from Hibs, Mixu Paatelainen has returned to management with Kilmarnock. The reasons for his Easter Road exit have never been fully explained, but the big Finn wasn't prepared to shed any fresh light on the subject as he took on a new challenge in the SPL yesterday.

After signing a two-year contract at Rugby Park, Paatelainen inevitably found himself being subjected to media scrutiny over his 18-month spell in charge of Hibs. After succeeding John Collins in January 2008, he led them to successive top-six finishes without ever earning complete approval from supporters.
