PERNOD Ricard moved a step closer to winning control of British drinks giant Allied Domecq yesterday after the GBP 7.4 billion bid was approved by US regulators.
Pernod, which is bidding with Fortune Brands of the US for Allied, the world's second biggest drinks company, needed a green light from the US Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice.
