Persimmon Says No to Talk of Bid for Rival Wilson

BRITAIN'S biggest housebuilder yesterday virtually ruled itself out of the bidding race for rival Wilson Bowden - as it emerged that its directors were on track for a GBP 10 million shares bonanza from the previous takeover of Westbury.

Mike Farley, chief executive of Persimmon, which has significant Scottish operations, asked about takeover ambitions, said yesterday: "No is the simple answer. We are very focused on organic growth."
