LIGHTS, cameras, action: the mother of all showdowns awaits as Dr Robert Langdon comes face to face with his nemesis, Dr Andrew Sinclair, the author of Rosslyn, who rides into town today to smite The Da Vinci Code asunder.

The good doctor - who was a real Harvard professor and former Cambridge historian and is referred to affectionately by Roslin locals as "Pink Gin" Sinclair - could have stepped right out of central casting. He is the Real McCoy, a pure Sinclair (whereas the current Earl is only an Erskine Sinclair).
