A QUARTER of Scotland's household waste is now being recycled rather than dumped in landfill, according to new figures released yesterday.
Ross Finnie, the environment minister, hailed the news that councils recycled 24.4 per cent of waste in the year to March - up from 17.3 per cent on the previous year, saying it showed that the people were "learning to live within our environmental means".See the full content of this document
