ONE of the "Big Four" accountancy firms has been brought in by the UK's financial regulator to investigate the conduct of former directors of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

It is understood the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has asked PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to look at whether the former RBS board, including former chief executive Sir Fred Goodwin, acted with competence and propriety.
