BRYAN Redpath is considering an approach from the Scottish Rugby Union to return to Scotland and play for Edinburgh.

However, the former Scotland captain, who retired from Test rugby at the end of the 2003 World Cup, yesterday denied rumours that he had been earmarked to link up with Todd Blackadder in a new-look coaching team. Redpath, Scotland's most-capped scrum-half, said: "I have a few things to consider at the moment and one of them is a move back to Scotland, where I would play for Edinburgh and try to help Mike Blair and other young scrum-halves develop. I have to admit that is something that I am quite enthusiastic about.
