LEE McConnell finished fifth in a final for the second time at these Games last night, but has another chance of a medal today when she runs in the 4x400-metres relay.

The Glaswegian athlete sat out yesterday's heats, having completed the 200m a little over an hour before - and having expressed her confidence in the squad's ability to reach the final. That confidence was not misplaced, as the quartet qualified comfortably for the final, finishing third in their heat.
