SEED potato growers have been warned that the highly infectious bacterial disease ring rot could cost them GBP 10 million a year unless they work harder to keep it out of the UK.

The first recorded case in the UK earlier this year, found in seed imported from the Netherlands, has been followed by another on a farm in the West Midlands this week, also linked to Dutch seed.
