UNEMPLOYMENT in Scotland fell to a 30-year low last month, according to figures released yesterday, bucking the UK trend in the process.

Across the UK, the number of people claiming the jobseeker's allowance increased for the sixth month in a row, the longest run of increases in nearly 13 years.
