Summary
1 In Anne Enright's book Making Babies there was one really memorable line. When thinking about the advice that she would one day give her daughter, once she had grown up, the most helpful thing she decides she will be able to tell her is to have sex before going out for dinner, not after. This is great advice, not just for sex, but for anything you really want to do. Do it now, while you know it can be done, rather than later, when you might not manage it.
2 I did work-experience at a magazine just after I graduated and one of the women there was quite mean to me, but she did give me a good bit of advice, which was not to learn how to do anything you don't want to have to do. It was a great tip because if you are the only one in the office who can fix photocopiers, or do a mail merge, then you are the one who has to do it all the time. It's easier not to be able to know how to do it, or, at least, not to admit that you do.See the full content of this document
