SELKIRK will tonight bid to end a 56-year wait for the Border League crown against Jed-Forest at Kelso's Poynder Park having savoured a coronation as 'Kings of the Sevens' at Riverside Park on Saturday.

The Souters came out on top of the ten-tournament Borders sevens circuit for the second year running after edging past Boroughmuir in the first round of the Barratt Jed-Forest Sevens to put themselves out of sight. They were just pipped by an impressive Kelso seven in the quarter-finals 19-12, but they had done enough to seal the Kings trophy and cash prize.
