WHO said economics is dead? The Fraser of Allander Institute drew more than 60 academics, MSPs, policy wonks and press to a splendid party at Edinburgh's Dynamic Earth for the relaunch of its Economic Commentary.
Dull it wasn't when guests reeled in shock at an FoA forecast handout predicting soaring unemploy-ment, rising inflation, falling growth and unparalleled misery. But the handout was a reprint of the FoA's first commentary - in July 1975. Its new forecasts come later this month. Will they be any better?
